SIMON WALKER
Don’t even know where to start with Simon Walker. The guy is so insanely talented. Aside from his talent he is also incredibly nice and approachable. Absolutely a design hero of mine. His lettering is impeccable. Every designer ought to know this guy. His level of professionalism is something I strive for in my own lettering. Thanks for inspiring Super Furry.
JAMES T. EMONDSON
Just saw this video today from James T. Edmondson so I thought I would share since I just posted some of his work. Enjoy.
JAMES T. EDMONDSON
James T. Edmondson blows my mind. His type work is jaw-dropping-good. Some of you may know him from his Lost Type Coop work. He has three beautiful fonts available through Lost Type. Go support him. He deserves it! Check out Duke, Wisdom Script, and Lavenderia.
Holy holidays, is it December already? Yes it is, and unless you’re living in-between the 20th latitudes you’re going to be experiencing the wonder that is snow. That’s right, cold temperatures mean the dandruff of the angels will soon be upon us, and in celebration we’ve got two fighters from the snow-crowned mountains of Colorado giving us their best S. In one corner we have Luke Lisi; born in Denver, this self-proclaimed nerd is as vicious as a hungry Wampa. In the other is Evan Huwa: raised on the farm, his focused design is bred from the experience of tilling cold, hard Winter soil.
This week is special as we are giving away a print from both Evan & Luke to two lucky followers over on Twitter. So vote for your favorite “S” below and head on over for your chance to win!
Let the voting begin! Oh, and one of these letters is mine!
KEN BARBER
Insightful interview from Ken Barber of House Industries. Would love to one day take his class.
DARREN BOOTH
I really enjoy the lettering work of Darren Booth. The fact that it’s all hand-done is especially awesome. Check his site out, you won’t be disappointed.
Recently finished up this custom type piece for a great band. Everyone should give The Heyday a listen. Really happy with how this turned out.
Nice type found via pilllpat on flickr.
